In 2007, Midcoast Outfitters made a 100% doantion for one special child to enjoy a sea duck hunt in Maine. Hunt of A Life Time is an organization that provides a hunting or fishing trip for a child with a terminal life threatening illness. One of the goals of the foundation is to bring families together and create a special memory for a child who is an outdoor enthusiast. We are proud to be a partner of this foundation.

Founded in 1990, The International Ecotourism Society is the largest and oldest ecotourism organization in the world dedicated to generating and disseminating information about ecotourism. It currently has members in more than 70 countries. The organization's membership includes academics, consultants, conservation professionals and organizations, governments, architects, tour operators, lodge owners and managers, general development experts, and ecotourists. TIES promotes responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people by: creating an international network of individuals, institutions and the tourism industry, educating tourists and tourism professionals, and influencing the tourism industry, public institutions and donors to integrate the principles of ecotourism into their operations and policies.

The Sportsman's Alliance of Maine is Maine's largest sportsman's organization with 14,000 members and a full-time headquarters and staff in Augusta.  SAM's staff works at the legislature, state agencies, and other forums on critical issues.  SAM was organized in 1975 as a 501(c)(4) non-profit membership organization to promote conservation of Maine's wildlife resources and to be an advocate for hunters, anglers, trappers and gun owners throughout the state.  SAM's members are activists who get involved in many events, projects, and programs which helps members have a real voice and impact on outdoor issues.  SAM’s annual budget exceeds $450,000.
Begun in 1899, the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary non-profit organization of over 300 independent Bar Harbor business people devoted to the creation and maintenance of a vital and healthy economic environment for Bar Harbor and its residents. The Chamber, as a membership organization, reflects the needs and concerns of its membership. Since a large portion of the business community gains the majority of its income from tourism, one of the Chamber's primary goals is to develop a sustainable tourism industry and promote the Bar Harbor area as Maine's premier travel destination.
The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association exists to promote, support, nurture, and preserve NMLRA's and our nation's rich historical heritage in the sport of muzzle loading through recreational, educational,     historical, and cultural venues such as match competition, hunting, gun making and safety, historical re-enactments, exhibits, museums, libraries, and other related programs.As an association founded upon our heritage of early American firearms, we declare our support of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

The Bridge to Bridge Association sponsors a full color brochure and map, the first edition of which was published in late June, 2006.  The Bridge to Bridge Association is pleased to cooperate with the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce and The Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. We also sponsor the www.mainebridges.com website to promote the local community.
The International Bow Hunters Organization was created in 1984 by a dedicated group with the mutual desire to ensure that bowhunting and the ideals of wildlife conservation will survive, expand and flourish to be shared, enjoyed and passed on to future generations. By its charter, the statement of purpose of the International Bowhunting Organization is: "To promote, encourage and foster the sport of bowhunting; further bowhunter education; act as a political coordinator and liaison for the protection and advancement of bowhunting--function as a clearinghouse for essential bowhunter information; and--adhere to the basic ideal of the unification of bowhunters."
The Maine Professional Guides Association is composed of Registered Maine Guides who strive to enhance the standards of the guiding industry. They are professional guides dedicated to promoting a quality, ethical and legal outdoor experience for all. Not all Registered Maine Guides are members of Maine Professional Guides Association (MPGA).
The guides listed in this directory are members in good standing of the Maine Professional Guides Association. To remain in good standing, a member is obligated to abide by the MPGA Code of Ethics.
The Code of Ethics includes but is not limited to:
  • Obey all State and Federal laws
  • Cooperate with all wildlife officials and landowners
  • Provide quality service and equipment
  • Promote conservation and education and putting safety above all else.
The Association is continually monitoring new and proposed legislation that affect the guiding industry, the fisheries, wildlife and the natural resources of the state, and other areas that have potential impact on the profession. The Association and its members strive to maintain credentials and qualifications that exceed the requirements of the law.
The Natural Resources Council of Maine is a 501c3 nonprofit membership organization protecting, restoring, and conserving Maine's environment, now and for future generations.

We work to improve the quality of Maine's rivers, reduce poisonous chemicals threatening human and wildlife health, decrease air and global warming pollution, and conserve Maine lands. NRCM harnesses the power of the law, science, and the voices of almost 9,000 members and activists statewide and beyond. Together, we are making a difference.
